We understand that considering caravan ownership can come with plenty of questions, so we've addressed the most common queries about owning a static caravan at our award-winning park.

This page will help you find useful information to guide your decision, from park facility details to the perks of owning a caravan in the Lancashire countryside.  


Seasonality & Fees

No, you cannot use a holiday caravan as your permanent residence. Old Hall Caravan Park is for holiday use only.

The park is open from 1st March-1st December for short stay tourers, and 1st March- 10th January for seasonal tourers and static holiday homes.

Contact Old Hall directly for current site fee information, as this can vary based on pitch location and caravan size. Our tariffs can be found here for seasonal tourers and short stay pitches, and here for statics.

Pitch fees are payable in full by 1st March. Although we don't offer a monthly direct debit option, you can use Orchard Finance to pay in instalments throughout the year, which will incur interest fees. Please note that Orchard Finance is not available for seasonal tourers.

Facilities and Amenities

Old Hall offers a laundrette, electricity hookups, TV connections, and fast Wi-Fi.

Yes, Old Hall has a play area for children

Yes, dogs are welcome. They must be kept on a lead around the site but can be exercised off-lead in the woodland walks. Fouling should be cleared and disposed of properly. 

Yes, but it must meet environmental criteria and be approved by the office before installation. You may also purchase a Tri-Metals storage box from us or inquire about second-hand boxes. 

All tourer hook-ups are 16 amp. Statics are currently a mixture of 16 and 32 amp, as we are gradually upgrading them.

Yes, we offer 6kg and 19kg Propane Calor gas bottles for purchase. Please call at the site office.

Yes, BBQs are allowed, but open fires and fire pits are not permitted.

Yes, Callender Caravans in nearby Carnforth has a well-stocked shop for all your tourer-specific needs.

Location and Activities

Old Hall is located near the Yorkshire Dales, South Lakes, and towns like Kirkby Lonsdale and Ambleside. It's also close to Carnforth and Lancaster. For more information on what is nearby, check out ‘What to See and Do. 

Yes, Old Hall offers woodland walks within its 70-acre property. There is also a nearby canal with several different local walks.

We are close to the market town of Carnforth, which has supermarkets such as Booths, Tesco, Co-op, and Aldi.

Booking and Stays

Old Hall offers touring pitches for short stays. Contact the office for availability.

Ownership & Holiday Homes

This isn’t something we do currently but are willing to consider it on a case-by-case basis.

All caravan purchases must be new and purchased through us. We work with several dealerships in the area. If you purchase from us using our partners, delivery, siting, and connections start at £4,500 for a standard-sized holiday home.

Each manufacturer has different warranty policies. Details can be found on the manufacturer's website or through our office.

Pre-owned holiday home parts and labour are covered for 3 months for items like structure, electrical system, heating system, water supply, and gas supply.

No, but insurance is required, and we offer a competitive rate through Leisure Days. If you use another provider, you must submit renewal documents annually within 30 days of renewal. There are certain insurance requirements that you must meet, contact us for more information.

Frost damage is not covered by warranty. Ensure your unit is drained down before frosty weather. We offer a drain-down service at the end of the season for an additional fee.

Whether you rent or own, you must provide a council tax bill and a utility bill for your home address annually.

That's fine, but you must provide the equivalent of a council tax bill and a utility bill for that property annually, along with a UK postal address.

Yes, friends and family are welcome to use your caravan, but sub-letting is not allowed.

Yes, we work with Orchard Funding to provide finance options. Contact us for details. You are also able to use other personal finance options.

Yes, we can arrange part exchanges with our local dealers. Contact us for a valuation.

Smaller decking costs between £5,000 and £7,000, while larger decks can range from £7,000 to £18,000, depending on size and requirements.

No, decking is allowed on one long side and one short side only, to ensure access under the caravan.

No, we work exclusively with Arrad Foot Balconies and Evabel to maintain quality and aesthetic consistency across the park.

Each pitch includes one parking space. Additional parking is available for visitors. 

Seasonal Tourers

Pitch fees are payable in full by 1st March. No monthly direct debit is available, but Orchard Finance offers an instalment option. Please note that Orchard Finance are not available for seasonal tourers.

Yes, on-pitch winter storage is included in your pitch fees until the end of February.

Yes, our toilet block has a sloping entrance and grab rails, although some areas of the site are hilly. We have an accessible toilet/shower with a sloped entrance, but the rest of the shower block requires you to use steps.

Outside office hours, the phones are diverted to a staff member for emergencies.

Seasonal tourers must be younger than 15 years when they come onto the park.
