Staff Focus: Murphy Wightman

Posted on: September 1, 2016

Murphy has been on the team at Old Hall for nearly 8 years now.  She excitedly welcomes any customer who walks in the door.  She is always quite vocal when a new friend arrives, but rest assured that any barking you may hear is always accompanied by a wagging tale and is simply her way of saying "hello"!

Murphy's job here is an important one.  She often poses as a model for our promotional material, but she's not just a pretty face.  Murphy regularly patrols the woodland walk , and she is always available to keep you company while you are waiting to speak to one of our two-legged office staff.

Murphy has kindly agreed to answer a few questions about herself.

Old Hall: What is your favourite part of the job?

Murphy: I really like the part of the job where I just get to lay around all day, and people come and take me out for walks.  It really makes it worth while even though I don't get paid.

Old Hall: What have you learned while working here?

Murphy: I've really learned to seize every opportunity that comes my way.  If there's an open door, I just make a run for it.  If someone leaves a sandwich unattended, I always make sure to help myself.  You can't let life just pass you by.

Old Hall: What do you do in your spare time when you are not at work?

Murphy: I mostly like running, sniffing and chasing things.  My favourite things to chase are rabbits. And squirrels.  And birds. I also like eating.  As luck would have it, there are two small humans that live in my house, and they often drop food on the floor.

Thanks so much for your time Murphy, and we look forward to having you with us for many more years!

Stay tuned for future "Staff focus" posts where you can learn a little more about other members of staff.
